Alibaba Sells More Than Twice As Much Amazon And eBay Combined

Matthew Zeitlin of BuzzFeed has assembled some staggering stats on Alibaba, the Chinese ecommerce company that raised $25 billion through its IPO in September. Most astonishing is Alibaba’s command of mobile commerce. The company’s Vice Chairman, Joe Tsai, claims Alibaba controls 86% of the mobile market in China, which translates to $95 billion worth of retail transactions in the past year.
